The Kemptville Youth Centre Needs Your Support.

On Sunday, August 17, the Kemptville Youth Centre will be hosting an event titled Field of Chrome. The event will feature cars, trucks, and motorcycles of all makes and models and will draw many enthusiasts to the Kemptville area. To ensure that everyone will be able to enjoy our event, there will be no entry or admission fees: funds will be raised only through sponsorship and donations.

Being a part of a youth centre is proven to lower alcohol and drug abuse in teenagers as well as lead to lower insurance rates for home and business owners due to decreased vandalism. Sergeant Springer of the Kemptville OPP recently made a public announcement stating that the presence of the Youth Centre saves the police force the cost of half a police officer each year due to a decrease in crime.

We are currently located in a rented building where the expenses have been increasing beyond the budget of a non-profit organization. We are affiliated with the United Way and Optimists International so that we are able to assist the youth in our community in making positive lifestyle choices in a fun, safe and non-judgemental environment. Programs are run daily, lunch is offered during the school week, and attendance has increased 60% from last year alone.

In order to continue providing a safe haven for the youth of this community, we are raising funds to purchase a new location. Our new home will provide greater space for both youth and staff, thus providing the opportunity to hold a wider variety of programs. The Youth Centre is now in its 11th year, helping our youth and bettering our community through decreased crime rates. We are on our way toward achieving our goal and are now asking for your assistance in raising the final $50,000
